This message is a reminder of the correct way of lifting heavy objects in order to avoid back problems.

Lifting objects the wrong way leads to musculo-skeletal disorders. More than a third of all over-three-day injuries are caused by incorrect manual handling practices.

Manual handling should be avoided wherever possible - firstly by checking whether it is necessary to move the load, and if it is, by considering automation, lifting machines or any other tool that can help ease the operation.

If it is essential to handle heavy objects manually, it should be done in such a way as to reduce the risk of injury.

Application of Message

This message is applicable to bricks, blocks, tiles etc. It is recommended that messages are either inserted in between layers of the components or stuck onto the top or side of a pallet of the components.

 

Message Format

Messages can be either printed on A5 size paper or on A5 size laminated synthetic labels with a permanent adhesive backing to ensure adequate adhesion to the bricks, blocks, tiles etc.
