This message is a reminder of the correct way of lifting heavy objects in order to avoid back problems.
Lifting objects the wrong way leads to musculo-skeletal disorders. More than a third of all over-three-day injuries are caused by incorrect manual handling practices.
Manual handling should be avoided wherever possible - firstly by checking whether it is necessary to move the load, and if it is, by considering automation, lifting machines or any other tool that can help ease the operation.
If it is essential to handle heavy objects manually, it should be done in such a way as to reduce the risk of injury.
